PHARMATECH Labs recently received approval from the Natural Health Products Directorate (NHPD) of Canada to begin exporting nutritional products and supplements to Canada.
After assessing PHARMATECH’s manufacturing facility, the NHPD found PHARMATECH in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) requirements outlined in Part 3 of the Natural Health Products Regulations (NHPR).
With approval from the NHPD comes authorization for PHARMATECH to ship products manufactured, packaged and labeled at PHARMATECH to Canadian importers.
The NHPD regulates the natural health product industry in Canada as the regulatory authority for the Health Products and Food Branch of Health Canada.
PHARMATECH recently received a letter from the NHPD stating, “The Natural Health Products Directorate (NHPD) is pleased to inform you that the Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) information and material submitted . . . have been assessed and found to comply with GMP requirements outlined in Part 3 of the Natural Health Products Regulations (NHPR). Please consider this as your notice of acceptance as an approved foreign manufacturer, packager and labeler.”
The NHPD has the primary responsibility to ensure only safe, effective and high quality natural health products are available in Canada.
The NHPD assesses all natural health products including vitamins and minerals, herbal remedies, homeopathic medicines, probiotics and nutritional supplements. All products are assessed for quality and safety by the NHPD before the product can be available for purchase in Canada. The NHPD also ensures all natural health products available in Canada are manufactured in a safe environment and free of contaminants.
Approval and authorization from the NHPD means PHARMATECH meets the strict GMP requirements of safety and quality for every product produced in its facility.
